PM Modi to Inaugurate Abu Dhabi’s First Hindu Temple on February 14th

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is getting ready to visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for two days, starting from Tuesday. On this trip, he will be opening Abu Dhabi’s first Hindu temple. This will be his seventh visit to the UAE since 2015.

Abu Dhabi’s First Hindu Temple

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) temple in Abu Dhabi on February 14. After the inauguration, the temple will be open to the public from March 1. The temple complex includes a visitors’ center, exhibitions, prayer halls, learning areas, sports facilities for children and youth, a food court, thematic gardens, a book and gift shop, and several other amenities.

BAPS mentioned that the temple, symbolizing harmony, will welcome people of all faiths. Everyone is encouraged to explore and learn about Hindu culture and spirituality.

While in the UAE, Mr. Modi will have a meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who holds important positions such as Vice-President, Defence Minister, and Prime Minister of the UAE. At Sheikh Mohammed’s invitation, the Prime Minister will take part as a guest of honor in the World Government Summit 2024 in Dubai. He will also give a special keynote address during the summit, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Additionaly on his visit, Mr. Modi will speak to the Indian community at Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi. The UAE has around 3.5 million Indians who work there.

The Ministry of External Affairs acknowledges that the positive and valuable contribution of the Indian community to the development of the UAE plays a crucial role in strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
